Initial Diagnostic Interview session, 90 minutes
$172.00 (before insurance adjustment or Self-Pay discount of 25%)

Includes: interview; mental status exam; depression, ptsd, & other clinical assessments as needed, treatment & goal planning; plus comprehensive report to referring physician when appropriate for coordination of care.

All subsequent sessions - 90 minutes
$152.00 (before insurance adjustment or Self-Pay discount of 25%)

I typically spend approximately 2 hours per session if a client has no time restrictions. Experience has shown that additional time per session contributes significantly to therapy's success, as our job is to diagnose accurately, treat effectively, and prevent counseling from continuing longer than necessary.

Self Pay

A growing number of clients wish to pay privately and avoid a mental health diagnosis in their health records, which is mandatory in order to file a health insurance claim. So I offer a 25% discount as follows for those who prefer to self pay. Of course your counseling visits, including mileage, are tax-deductible expenses, and I am happy to provide a detailed summary statement at your request for tax or reimbursement purposes.

Initial visit - 90-minute Diagnostic Interview session: $172.00, minus 25% discount = $129.00 your rate
All subsequent 90-minute Private Pay sessions: $152.00, minus 25% discount = $114.00 your rate

If your insurance plan includes counseling, behavioral health, or mental health benefits, please verify coverage details and ask (1) if your deductible has been met, (2) what your co-payment will be per visit, (3) how many sessions are covered, and (4) if pre-authorization is required.
